Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union members at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have commenced a new round of strike action on March 11, 2025, escalating an ongoing pay dispute by walking out for a further two-day period.
CAA PCS union members based at Gatwick Airport and Canary Wharf previously walked out in January.
The union stated that workers are frustrated over receiving a pay offer of just 3%, while chief executive Rob Bishton received a 32% salary increase last year.
PCS general secretary Fran Heathcote said: “Our members are proud to work for the CAA, keeping our airspace safe, but pride doesn’t pay the bills. They deserve be treated fairly and paid fairly. Until they are, we’ve been left with little option but to escalate this dispute.”
