Boliviana de Aviación began commercial flights to Miami starting July 24 with 275-seat Airbus A330-200s. Miami becomes the second destination for these aircraft after Buenos Aires.
Boliviana de Aviacion recently inducted two Airbus A330-200 in its fleet with a third aircraft expected soon as a replacement for its ageing B767s. The two A330s previously flew for Virgin Australia and have an average age of 9.4 years.
Both the aircraft were acquired on operating leases, one from Commonwealth Bank of Australia and another from Park Aerospace Holdings and managed by Avolon.
Each A330 has 275 seats, 50 more than the airline’s outdated 767s. There are 20 business seats, twice as many as on the B767, with each seat lie-flat and with personal IFE. In economy, there are 255 seats, 40 more.
