Boeing has resumed production of all airplane programs that were halted by the machinists' strike that began mid-September 2024 and ended November 5, 2024.
The manufacturer resumed production of its 737 programme at the start of December, over a month after strike action ended on November 5, 2024.
Boeing commercial airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope confirmed in a social media post on December 17, 2024, that the company has now resumed production across its 737, 767, and 777/777X programs.
“Our teammates have worked methodically to warm up our factories in the Pacific Northwest, using Boeing’s safety management system to identify and address potential issues and ensure a safe and orderly restart,” said Pope.
She also emphasised that Boeing has focused on ensuring all manufacturing employees are up to date on training, following the seven weeks of strike action.
“We plan to closely monitor production health indicators while maintaining its commitment to delivering safe, high-quality airplanes on time to our customers,” Pope added.
The company's backlog totals 5,499 aircraft.
