Boeing has predicted that Middle Eastern carriers will require around 2,340 new aircraft by 2029 to satisfy growing demand. That’s a 150% increase in the current aircraft fleet, which adds up to $390 billion in sales.
Boeing’s forecast states that the majority of the aircraft required will be twin-aisle –mainly Boeing’s 777 and 787, and Airbus A330, A340 and A350 aircraft. The US manufacturer also said that demand in the region would be driven by low-cost carriers.
Currently, 10% of Boeing’s backlog comes from the orders in the Middle East.
Worldwide, Boeing said that airlines would need 30,900 new aircraft valued at $3.6 trillion by 2029.
