Boeing issues 222 layoff notices

Boeing has issued layoff notices to 222 members of its professional aerospace union.

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), confirmed on December 6, 2024, that the manufacturer issued layoff notices to 184 professionals and 38 technicians working for the manufacturer.

SPEEA is “reviewing the data” to ensure Boeing followed the process for layoffs spelled out in the employee’s contracts.

This is the second round of job cuts following layoffs announced In November, when Boeing issued 438 SPEEA-represented employees with layoff notices. In total, these recent job cuts have now impacted 3.9% of SPEEA's membership at Boeing, equating to 660 people.
