BeOnd receives Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization from MCAA

BeOnd, Maldivian startup recently received its Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) approval from the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) paving way for its commercial launch in mid Q3 of 2023.

BeOnd was launched as a joint venture between Arabesque, an investment firm based in the United Arab Emirates, and the SIMDI Group, a hospitality company based out of the Maldives. The airline’s management includes Max Nilov as chief strategy officer and Tero Taskila as chief executive officer.

BeOnd's business model focusses entirely on premium travel in the leisure sector. The airline will fly no economy class seats, planning to start with an Airbus A319 with only 44 seats and gradually add A321 with only 68 lie-flat business class seats arranged in a 2-2 configuration, whereas other airlines fit 220 economy class seats in the same aircraft.

The airline plans to reach a target of 50 destinations by 2028.

The airline’s route network, as described on its website mainly includes destinations across Europe, Middle East and Asia with Dubai and Delhi expected to be the first destinations, pending regulatory approval.
