Batik Air ramps international capacity with two new routes

Batik Air is all set to expand its international operations to three destinations from Kuala Lumpur connecting Colombo, Male and Seoul. Of these three, the airline has previously operated flights on the Colombo route, while Male and Seoul are new additions.

Batik Air is planning to deploy its B737 MAX 8 on the Colombo and Male route. Batik Air will be the fourth airline serving Colombo from Kuala Lumpur all the while facing stiff competition from AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and SriLankan.

Prior to pandemic Colombo was one of the seventh-largest South Asia market after Dhaka, Trichy, Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, and Kathmandu.

Batik Air Malaysia will begin its scheduled daily services to Seoul from June 23, 2023 deploying its B737 MAX 8.
