Aviation training provider BAA Training is setting-up a new training centre close to the close Barcelona–El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport which will contain seven full flight simulators, enabling it 51 thousand flight training hours in FFS.
According to the firm, BAA Training Spain’s 5300-square-metre modern training centre will be the largest in southern Europe when all seven flight simulators come online by 2023 – with the first two expected to be in use by the middle of 2020.
An Airbus A320ceo full flight simulator should be in action by August, with a Boeing 737NG planned to start operation in September, the firm said. When all seven simulators are in use by 2023, the facility will be able to train about 6,000 pilots annually.
The training centre will be equipped with full flight simulators and flight training devices suitable for pilot type rating qualification, pilot recurrent training and wet and dry FFS lease services, it will also provide full scope of pilot training in Spain. BAA Training already has Ab Initio flight bases in Spain, and addition of FFS training centre, will enable the firm to accommodate any airline pilot training needs within its developed Cadet, MPL or other training programmes, according to Egle Vaitkeviciute, CEO at BAA Training.
