Azorra has delivered its first Airbus A220-300 from its firm orderbook of 22 to Breeze Airways.
The new A220 from Azorra marks the 24th A220 to join Breeze’s fleet and the first to be assembled at Airbus’ plant in Mirabel, Canada, where the A220 programme is headquartered.
The delivery comes shortly after the airline announced plans to become an all-A220 operation by the end of 2024.
David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, said that the A220 was the ""focal point"" of Breeze’s business model. He said: ""From its largest in category windows and spacious overhead storage bins, to its incredible efficiency and being the quietest in its class, our guests love the elevated travel experience on Breeze’s A220s. It has been a pleasure working with our partners at Azorra, and this new aircraft will enable Breeze to continue to grow beyond our current 56 cities across 29 states.”
John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, also praised the ""unparalleled efficiency"" of the A220.
As of April 2024, Breeze has taken delivery of 24 A220s from the Airbus manufacturing facility in Mobile, AL
