Avia Solutions Group subsidiary Avion Express Philippines has received a temporary operating permit (TOP) from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) of the Philippines. This will enable the start-up airline to commence its preparations for flights offering ACMI services.
The company's operations will be based at Clark International Airport once it receives its first aircraft, an A320, expected in November this year.
The TOP will serve as the company's provisional authority in the meantime. The company is seeking issuance of a certificate of public convenience and necessity (CPCN) also by the CAB, and an air operator certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
The company expects its second and third A320 by June 2026.
