Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has won a contract to overhaul the engines of Austrian Airline A320-family fleet.
The eight-year contract, which extends an existing agreement between the two, covers all CFM56-5B engines powering the 21 A320 aircraft.
"This contract is another important milestone in the successful partnership of Austrian and Lufthansa Technik," says Dr Thomas Stueger, chief executive product and service of Lufthansa Technik. At the end of 2007, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have agreed on a close cooperation in technical services.
LHT offers a range of engine services from maintenance, repair and overhaul to engineering services and logistics including spare engine support.
LHT has been providing support for Austrian Airlines' CFM56-7B and PW4000 engines powering the carrier's Boeing 737 and 767 fleets. These aircraft as well as the airline's Boeing 777 and Airbus A320 family jets are also supported with component and landing gear services.
