Arajet recently launched two new routes connecting Mexico and Brazil starting September 21. The airline will connect Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU) and Cancun International Airport (CUN) with São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) in Brazil via Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
Santo Domingo will be a connection point for four weekly flights. Arajet will operate on both the routes on Thursday and Sunday. The airline plans to deploy its 737 MAX 8 on the routes with 185-passenger capacity in two-class configuration.
Travelers flying to Mexico and Brazil will not have to go through immigration or collect their luggage.
Once this new route is launched, Arajet will offer 18 destinations across North and South America across 12 countries. The destinations offered by Arajet are São Paulo in Brazil; Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, and Cartagena in Colombia; San José in Costa Rica; Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; San Salvador in El Salvador; Lima in Peru; Guatemala City in Guatemala; Mexico City and Cancún in Mexico; and Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica and St. Maarten in the Caribbean.
In March 2022, Arajet signed an order with Boeing for 20 737 MAX 8 aircraft plus 15 options to be received in the future.
The airline is planning to expand its network between United States and the Dominican Republic
