APA warns American off throwing out union contract

The Allied Pilots Association has warned the management of American Airlines against attempts to throw out the union contract, which it has threatened to do. In a message to members, APA said that “management needs to step back and carefully consider the repercussions of what they're attempting to do. How do they think the pilot group will react to having our contract put through a paper shredder? Is that truly the best way to once again become a preeminent carrier? The answers are obvious."
In six days, the New York City bankruptcy court will hear from American Airlines about why it should be allowed to reject its contracts with the APA, Association of Professional Flight Attendants and Transport Workers Union.
