Frontier Airlines on the block
9th November 2011
All Nippon Airways (ANA) has reported a net income of ¥3.5bn ($34.4 million) for the first-quarter of the company’s fiscal year 2014, reversed from a net loss of ¥6.6bn in the same period last year.
ANA said: “Sales growth was supported by good demand for domestic and international air travel and diversification into other airline-related businesses, including cargo. Operating expenses were up due principally to increased fuel costs.”
First-quarter revenues were ¥386.8bn, up 10% year-on-year, while expenses grew 8.2% to ¥386.5bn, resulting in operating income of ¥347 million, reversed from a ¥5.6bn operating loss in the first quarter of FY 2013.
