All Nippon Airways raised its profit forecast for FY2022, expecting to deliver an operating profit of $897 million for the year-ending March 31, 2023. This is up from the February 2022 guidance of $710 million and further up from the $486 million estimated in October 2022.
In five months, from October 2022 to March 2023, ANA Holdings has lifted its operating profit forecast from $486-$897 million giving a clear mandate of strong air traffic recovery in Asia.
The airline said international passenger revenues performed strongly in the fourth quarter due to demand for business and inbound travel to Japan.
The Group estimates ordinary forecast to be $882 million and income attributable to owners of the parent to be $665 million compared to losses of $1.38 billion and $1.07 billion, respectively, in FY2021. The airline is expected to release its official full-year results this week.
As for the routes ANA is planning to increase frequency on the Tokyo Narita - Shanghai Pudong route to seven weekly roundtrips. Together with the flights from Tokyo Haneda, there will be three roundtrips per day on the Shanghai route (Pudong and Hongqiao) from the Tokyo metropolitan area. The airline will resume the Kansai - Shanghai Pudong route on June 5th with three roundtrips weekly after being suspended since March 2020.
The airline will increase the frequency on the Tokyo Narita - Guangzhou route with a daily roundtrip service from May 1, and the Haneda - Shenzhen route will enter service with daily roundtrips from May 20.
ANA is also ramping its Tokyo Narita to Hong Kong International Airport capacity from three to seven weekly flights starting June. Tokyo-Haneda-Munich Airport will also see an increase from three to four weekly flights starting June.
