American Airlines has been given $22 million for Tech Ops Tulsa, its crucial maintenance base and engine repair and overhaul facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The funds were provided by the state of Oklahoma’s business expansion incentive program.

The funds will be received over the course of three years. The investments will add on to American’s $31.6 million investment into its modernisation along with an ongoing $350 million improvement project at Tech Ops Tulsa.

“For Oklahoma’s business sector to succeed,” said Oklahoma lieutenant governor and secretary of workforce and economic development Matt Pinnell, “we must support the existing companies that are right here in Oklahoma.”

The investment has opened opportunities for various engine repair and overhaul work with over American hiring over 300 new employees at Tech Ops Tulsa.
