Alaska Air secures financing for two aircraft from Natixis CIB

The Alaska Air Group has secured financing for two aircraft from Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking (Natixis CIB).

Natixis CIB structured the deal as a senior secured commercial loan, covering one 787-9 operated by Hawaiian Airlines and one 737 MAX 8 operated by Alaska Airlines. The French bank acted as mandated lead arranger and lender in the transaction.

The financing comes as Alaska and Hawaiian move forward with integration efforts to establish a combined carrier with an expanded network.

“We are thrilled to support Alaska Air Group in financing one wide-body aircraft for Hawaiian Airlines and one narrow-body aircraft for Alaska Air,” said Cecilia Peteuil, director, Aviation Americas at Natixis CIB. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Alaska Air Group as they advance the integration with Hawaiian Airlines.”

The acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines, completed on September 18, 2024, bolstered Alaska Air Group’s international reach, particularly in transpacific markets.

The airline most recently announced that from next year it will begin operating services to London, Rome and Reykjavik.
