Aircraft Propeller Service’s Atibaia, Brazil-based facility (APS Brazil), which this past spring earned its certification as a repair station by Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (COM Nr. 1605-41/ANAC), has successfully completed its first 568F blade major inspection for a leading ATR operator in Brazil.
APS is the only MRO in the Americas licensed to support UTC Aerospace Systems’ propellers with full capability for the major inspection and overhaul of the 568F blade using proprietary compression wrap technology.

APS Brazil General Manager Fabio Renato Rossi do Nascimento, stated, “All the pieces were in place to start providing operators in Latin America with this advanced capability, conveniently and cost-effectively directly from our Brazil shop. The operator has been a loyal customer for the past two years whose blade repairs were being handled by our Lake Zurich, Illinois headquarters. Now, with our ANAC certification, this capability was seamlessly transferred from our headquarters to our shop in Atibaia, Brazil. We completed four major inspections for this customer in September and continue to process their blades today. The logistical and financial benefits are significant in that we are able to save them thousands of dollars in freight costs and reduce turnaround time by half by eliminating customs and shipping delays.”
