Airbus delivered a total of 71 aircraft during March, a figure which aligns with revised estimates reported in the media earlier this week.
Deliveries in March increased in comparison to the same month of the year prior, when Airbus delivered a total of 63 aircraft. This figure is also an increase from the 40 deliveries made by Airbus during February, and significantly up from the 25 made in January.
However, when looking at the first quarter of the year, Airbus delivered a total of 136 aircraft -123 narrowbody jets and 13 widebodies. This represents a drop in comparison to the same three-month period of 2024, when the manufacturer delivered 142 aircraft.
Airbus had previously stated that deliveries in the first quarter of the year would be lower this year when compared to 2024, during its 2024 earnings call in February. “We start 2025, with a bit of a specific situation that we know first quarter will be lower than last year, particularly from CFM [supply],” said management on the call.
The company originally guided around 820 commercial aircraft deliveries for 2025 during its 2024 earnings call. Last year, it delivered 766 aircraft, four short of its 770 target. It had originally targeted 800 deliveries.
In addition to orders, Airbus received 204 net orders during March, taking Airbus' backlog to 5,509.
