In March 2021, Latvian airline airBaltic has carried 29, 200 passengers or 79% less than the year before. In March 2021, airBaltic performed 660 flights.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “In March 2020 we were already forced to suspend all of our scheduled operations, helping to limit the spread of Covid-19. Today we are gradually resuming flights to a larger number of destinations, while providing essential connectivity for those passengers who need to travel. We expect that during the summer months responsible and safe leisure travel will once again be possible.”
airBaltic will also launch new scheduled flights between Riga and Tenerife from September 2, 2021using its Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Gauss adds: “Tenerife is the largest and most popular destination in the Canary Islands and will be an excellent addition to our improved route map, offering another sunny, safe getaway for travellers from the Baltics. It will be one of the longest flights on our route map.”
