airBaltic passengers increase by 36% in 2023

airBaltic had a positive year in 2023 with passenger traffic numbers rising to approximately 4.5 million, a 36% increase from 2022. Over the year, the airline operated 18% more flights than the year prior, at over 44,000 flights.

Furthermore, airBaltic passengers increased by 18% in December 2023 in comparison to the same period in the year prior.

airBaltic president and CEO Martin Gauss said: "our commitment extends beyond connecting the Baltics with the world, as we also we aim to continuously enhance passenger experiences and make substantial contributions to the economy. Last year's achievements reflect our ongoing dedication to these goals.”

Gauss added: "as we look ahead to 2024, our full attention is devoted to the active path we have recently embarked on towards the contemplated Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the company’s shares."

airBaltic had extended its network throughout 2023 to its personal record of over 100 direct routes from its home cities Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Tampere, and Gran Canaria.
