AirAsia X has requested an extension of three months to Bursa Malaysia to file its regularisation plan. The latest application requests a new date of July 28, 2023. In the October 2022 filing, the company had requested for a six-month extension and accordingly was supposed to submit the plan by this month.
The stock exchange had agreed to the initial extension and had set the new plan submission date of April 29, 2023.
The company was assigned Practice Note 17 (PN17) status in October 2021 by the Bursa Malaysia.
The PN17 status is assigned to listed entities in financial distress that gives them a year’s time to regularise their finances or risk delisting. Filing a formal regularisation plan is a part of this process.
The stock exchange has not responded to this request as of now.
“The board of directors wishes to announce that the company and the appointed advisers are in the midst of formulating and/or evaluating the proposals to develop the proposed regularisation plan to holistically restructure its business and financial condition,” the company said in a separate filing earlier this month.
