AirAsia said on March 5, 2025, that it expects to receive 14 aircraft throughout the year, with these aircraft set to support “surging” travel demand in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Kuala Lumpur-based carrier stated that four of the aircraft will be delivered directly from Airbus, while the remaining ten will come from leasing companies.
Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, stated that the airline has already financed its next 56 aircraft, positioning it for significant expansion.
The airline also stated that the introduction of both A321XLR and A321LR aircraft will “transform” its regional and long-haul low-cost connectivity, while its A330 fleet will be optimised for long-haul routes, bolstering an expansion into new intercontinental markets.
