Air India has resumed its Delhi-Vienna service that was suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic from February 18, 2023. Air India is deploying its 787 on the thrice weekly route that offers a two-class cabin configuration featuring 18 business class and 236 economy class seats.
Commenting on the resumption of yet another international route, Nipun Aggarwal, chief commercial and transformation officer of Air India said: “A key element of Air India’s Vihaan.AI transformation is to keep enhancing connectivity between India's major cities and leading global destinations. Adding this new service to Vienna, following the recent service to Milan reiterates our commitment to this mission.”
Vienna is part of Air India’s larger network resumption to Europe. The airline had announced in November about bringing back non-stop services from Delhi to Milan, Vienna, and Copenhagen – all three of which were suspended during COVID.
The Milan service was launched on February 1 and operates four times weekly, the Delhi-Copenhagen flight will also start from March 1.
Air India will soon start flying to London Gatwick from Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, and Kochi. SpiceJet now flies to Rome and Milan from Amritsar with a technical stopover in Tbilisi, Georgia.
