Air France to cut routes and fleet

The board of directors of Air France-KLM Group have agreed to cut routes at Air France and reduce the size of its fleet over the next two years to help it achieve profitability goals. The news comes after the airline failed to reach agreement with pilot unions to freeze pay and increase productivity.

Air France is preparing changes to produce the desired savings, which may include job reductions other than attrition or early-retirement packages, although the airline has not confirmed what measures it will seek.
