Air Europa has commenced a daily service between Madrid and Abu Dhabi, on behalf of Etihad Airways.
The Spanish carrier is now operating one of Etihad’s two daily services between Abu Dhabi and Madrid under a wet-lease agreement, marking the first time Air Europa has operated a flight to the Middle East.
Juan José Hidalgo, Air Europa's president, noted that through this wet-lease agreement, Air Europa will be able to “better serve” growing demand for travel between Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
This new 787-9 service expands on an established partnership between the two airlines, building on their codeshare agreement and frequent flyer programme cooperation.
