Average global air cargo rates edged upwards in the final full week before the Lunar New Year, with average full market worldwide pricing up by 4% to $2.52 per kilo, representing an 11% increase when looking at figures from the same period of 2024.
In data provided by WorldACD, rates from Asia-Pacific origins led the way, with a weekly increase of 6%. Similarly, tonnages also rose from Asia-Pacific origins by 6% above levels recorded in the same period of last year.
Worldwide tonnages were broadly stable during the week, with weekly tonnages increasing by 1%. This level is approximately 7% below the weekly average observed in December, slightly above the average seen last October, and in line with the same period last year.
