Air Astana Group is conducting its first simultaneous six-year and 12-year C checks on Airbus A320 aircraft.
The checks are being carried out on an Air Astana A321neo and a FlyArystan Airbus A320ceo at the Group’s engineering centre in Astana, Kazakhstan.
“Both procedures are among the most complex types of maintenance, requiring almost complete disassembly of the aircraft followed by test flights to confirm full serviceability,” the Group said.
“These inspections cover all aircraft systems, with the six-year C check limited to the standard depth of inspection, and the 12-year C check including expanded inspection of structures and components.”
Since 2019, the Group has conducted 42 C checks at its engineering centres in Astana and Almaty.
These include its first six-year C check, completed in 2023, and its first 12-year C-Check, completed in 2024.
The Group operates a fleet of 61 aircraft split between Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s full-service flag carrier, established in 2022, and FlyArystan, its low-cost airline established in 2019.
