Air Astana is aiming for robust expansion and forecasts strong passenger recovery ahead of 2023. By the end of this year, the airline expects to carry over 7 million passengers, about 12% more than 2021. The airline reported a net profit of $65 million in the first 10 months of 2022, about 84% more than the same time last year.
Air Astana has been steadily expanding its fleet capacity with the addition of three Airbus A321LR aircraft in 2022. FlyArystan also increased its fleet by three Airbus A320neo aircraft and is expecting another Airbus A320neo before the end of the year. The Group will add another six aircraft in 2023. Going ahead the airline has also leased three new widebody Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with Air Lease Corporation.
Air Astana carried out its first C2-checks on two Airbus A320 aircraft operated by FlyArystan. Air Astana flies to 42 routes, 27 international and 15 domestic while FlyArystan operates on 34 routes, 8 international and 26 domestic. In 2022, Air Astana launched new regular flights to Heraklion and Bodrum, and has resumed flights from Almaty to Bangkok and Beijing. FlyArystan launched flights from Aktau to Baku and Istanbul and has resumed Shymkent-Kutaisi, Aktau-Dubai and Shymkent-Dubai flights. Next year, Air Astana plans to open flights to Medina and Tel Aviv.
