Aeromexico saw a 10% reduction in total emissions during 2024, when compared to 2019, with the airline noting that this reduction has been facilitated by 54% of its fleet consisting of new-generation aircraft.
In a new sustainability report, the Mexican flag-carrier stated that it used 323,000 litres of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) during the year, while also purchasing 52,000 tons of carbon credits through the CORSIA program.
The airline also implemented operational efficiency measures across its fleet to avoid generating more than 39,000 tons of CO2.
During 2024, Aeromexico recorded a 15% expansion in its international network, due to the resumption of operations to Seoul, increased frequencies to Europe, and the opening of 27 new routes to the US.
