Aeroitalia strengthens presence in Sicily

Aeroitalia has announced a new route, connecting the city of Comiso with Bucharest. The airline will fly twice per week between Comiso Airport (CIY) and Bucharest Băneasa Airport (BBU).

The inaugural flight is scheduled for July 8 and will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays for the rest of the summer season.

Aerolitalia will use its sole Boeing 737-700 on the new Comiso to Bucharest route, which has a capacity of up to 143 passengers in an all-economy configuration.

"Aeroitalia continues to implement its network with the aim of strengthening its presence in Sicily and offering more and more possibilities for connections with new destinations. We are proud to continue to offer a significant contribution to the growth of air transport in the Sicilian Region. We are making every effort to offer more and more alternative travel options with the best quality-price ratio, and with an onboard service that differentiates us in terms of style and customer service," the airline said in a statement.

Aeroitalia will commence flights to Rome June 2, 2023.  The airline will see significant expansion this summer, as it launches flights to summer holiday destinations throughout Croatia and Greece.
