AerCap taps former American Airlines CEO Doug Parker for its board

AerCap has appointed former American Airlines chief executive Doug Parker as a non-executive director, alongside the reappointment of three existing board members.

The Dublin-based aircraft lessor said shareholders approved Parker’s appointment at its annual general meeting on April 15, together with the reappointment of non-executive directors Stacey Cartwright, Rita Forst and Robert Warden. At the same time, Brad Branch retired from the board following eight years of service.

Chief executive Aengus Kelly said: “I am delighted to welcome Doug Parker to the Board. With more than 35 years of aviation industry experience… Doug brings deep insight and perspective that the Board believes will greatly benefit AerCap.” He added: “I would also like to sincerely thank Brad Branch for his excellent counsel and guidance over his eight years of service to the Board.”

AerCap, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies, provides fleet solutions to around 300 airline customers globally and maintains a significant aircraft order book, positioning it at the centre of airline fleet financing and renewal strategies.
