Aegean Airlines eyes growth during 2025

Aegean Airlines plans to explore opportunities for growth in 2025, citing a “robust” performance in 2024.

Speaking at the Airline Economics Growth Frontiers Dublin 2025 conference, Aegean’s deputy CFO, Stella Dimaraki, during a fireside chat with SMBC Aviation Capital CEO Peter Barrett, expressed confidence about the airline’s outlook for 2025.

“During 2025, we are looking at many opportunities for growth, as we have seen consistent growth over the past ten years,” Dimaraki said.

While demand for the airline remains strong, Dimaraki noted that supply chain constraints continue to pose challenges for the Greek flag carrier.

“We are currently affected by engine issues and are allocating significant resources to mitigate their impact,” Dimaraki emphasised. “This is being addressed through various measures to protect the airline’s growth plans, as some aircraft remain grounded due to these constraints.”

Dimaraki added that Aegean is hopeful of progress in resolving delays from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) over the next 12 months but admitted that challenges persist.
