Acumen Aviation expands services during 2023
Aircraft asset management company Acumen Aviation has published its 2023 operational review, highlighting that ‘lease management, structuring advisory, trading and remarketing remained buoyant and stable despite the continued and persistent challenges faced by the aviation industry’. Over the last year, Acumen’s team of nearly 100 personnel appraised over 1484 assets and inspected 230 aircraft in over 40 countries, completing 10 returns/transitions. It has over 24 assets under lease management, 1298 under data management, and valued a further 62 assets for ABS during the period. In 2023, Acumen managed ten special purpose vehicles in Ireland as well as a combined pool of 24 assets leased across the globe, with most funds backed by US and Japanese investors. It was also mandated to provide strategic structuring advisory services for a fund based in Ireland regarding investments in P2F (passenger to freighter) conversions. Alongside continuing its existing technical management services, Acumen introduced new services such as final assembly line inspection (at OEMS during new delivery) and P2F aircraft delivery. Regulatory approval for extensions to its Maintenance Management System (MMS) was received in November 2023, with the addition of safety management modules (SMM) planned for 2024. Clients in the Asia Pacific region comprised 55% of Acumen’s customers, followed by North America (25%), Europe (16%) and the Middle East (4%). However, European projects represented the largest regional demand (at 38%), narrowly followed by Asia Pacific (35%). Projects in America and the Middle East each took a 23% and 4% of regional share, respectively.
