The Abu Dhabi airport handled a record 10 million passengers in the first half (H1) of 2023, recording an increase of 67% as compared to the same period last year. In 2022, the airport handled a total of 10,258,653.
From January to June 2023, the airport operated 67,835 flights reporting an increase by 36%.
“Our passenger traffic figures for the first half of 2023 highlight our extensive efforts to support Abu Dhabi’s increasingly vibrant business, tourism, and aviation sectors,” commented Frank McCorie, chief operations officer, Abu Dhabi airport. “Sustained increases in passenger numbers and flights also highlight Abu Dhabi Airports’ growth plans, in parallel with exemplary operations, technological integrations, and ever-expanding partnership ecosystem.”
On the cargo front, the airport handled 259,461 tonnes of air freight, and the busiest destinations, were Mumbai, London, Delhi, Kochi, and Doha.
As of now, the airport serves 114 destinations served by 27 airlines.
