AA, BA, IBERIA TRIUMVIRATE ADD MORE CODESHARES

American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia are adding 317 codeshare flights to the 2,700 codeshares already operating between North America and Europe. Tickets for the new codeshare flights go on sale today.

Iberia will place its code to 72 American Airlines flights and to 86 British Airways flights.

The three carriers have also announced five new routes from March next year: Barcelona-Miami and Madrid-Los Angeles (Iberia), New York JFK-Budapest and Chicago-Helsinki (American Airlines), and London Heathrow-San Diego (British Airways).

Through the link up, the airlines will serve more than 400 destinations in over 100 countries.

Customers can earn frequent flyer miles on all three airlines and also benefit from dedicated customer transfer centres at Madrid, New York JFK, London Heathrow, Chicago and Miami; online check-in and boarding pass printing with either the airline operating the flight, or the one the ticket was booked through; integrated online flight information on all three airlines’ websites; a wider choice of fares; and coordinated schedules on joint routes to provide customers with better flight choice and timings.
