Swiss Steel Group is calling on the aviation industry to use sustainable materials in aircraft design, as well as the development of alternative drive technologies and the improvement of engine efficiency in its white paper. The publication highlights the changes and challenges facing the aviation industry as it strives toward net-zero emissions by 2050. The paper said that while the industry contributes only around 4% of total greenhouse gas emissions in the EU, it has one of the fastest growing emission volumes, driven by the increasing demand for travel from passengers.
