Air Astana co-funds SAF pre-feasibility study

Air Astana, together with Kazakhstan’s state-owned oil and gas company, KazMunayGas, has co-financed a pre-feasibility study on the production and utilization of SAF in Kazakhstan, initiated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and supported by the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan. The study was carried out by ICF, a global advisory and technology services provider. The comprehensive study reviewed decarbonisation strategies, analysed the global SAF landscape, and examined both supply and demand dynamics along with feedstock availability.
