US airlines gained $7.8bn in profit in 2023, up $6.3bn from 2022’s $1.6bn net profit. However, the data from the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics showed that the total net profit was still shy of the $14.7bn net profit from US airlines in pre-pandemic 2019.
