Riyadh Air has begun its air operator certificate (AOC) proving flights as of September 12, 2024. “This marks another important milestone in our journey to our maiden flight in 2025,” it read in a statement. Using a leased 787-9 aircraft from Saudia Airlines, the flight will depart from King Khalid International Airport for Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport. Riyadh Air ordered 39 787-9s last year, with options for a further 33 – totalling 72.
