The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked Pratt & Whitney to urgently detect the cause of IndiGo’s mid-air engine failures. IndiGo experience three in-flight engine failures in August on flights: Madurai to Mumbai, Kolkata to Bangalore and Amritsar to Delhi. In each case, the aircraft were required to return due to engine failure. DGCA wants P&W to identify the possible causes and recommend mitigation measures for early detection of such incidents.
