Munich Airport has welcomed its 50 millionth passenger on flights to and from the US. “Long-haul non-stop flights between Munich Airport and destinations in the USA have undergone an enormous development and are continuing to grow,” said a spokesperson for the airport. They continued: “The airport recorded the 50-millionth passenger to travel on the non-stop service to the United States since the airport was established.” Germany’s second busiest airport began operating flights to the US in 1992 – with 39 departures to five destinations per week – this has now increased to 140 departures per week across 14 destinations.
