Airbus has apparently not fully ruled out the idea of returning to A380 production. The OEM’s commercial aircraft division CEO Christian Scherer told the Hamburger Ambendblatt: “The door is closed, but it is not locked. In industry, nothing is ever ruled out.” The A380 – launched in 2005 and achieved certification the next year – was coined the superjumbo aircraft, with its double-decker configuration, both with full-length widebody dimensions, and equipped with quad-jets.
