Canada’s Competition Bureau obtained two court orders requiring Air Canada and WestJet Airlines to provide information for its market study into competition in Canada’s airline industry, the government body said on October 3, 2024. It is the first time the bureau has used its newly granted information gathering powers in a market study. The orders were granted by Canada’s federal court.
