Boeing has confirmed that it will close the temporary extra assembly line in Everett used to build 787s at the end of this year for it to be converted for use in early production of the forthcoming 777X aircraft.
Workers on the temporary line will transition to the other 787 assembly line in Everett, which will ramp up production to match the current rate.
