Riyadh Air has selected Neo Space Group’s (NSG) Skywaves in-flight connectivity system for its Airbus A321 fleet, introducing high-speed onboard internet services when the aircraft enter service.
Under the agreement, Riyadh Air’s A321s will be equipped with NSG’s Ka-band connectivity solution, offering speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Free access will be available to members of the airline’s Sfeer loyalty programme, with passengers able to register onboard.
The system uses Thinkom Ka2517 antennas and will operate on SES’s Open Orbits network, combining medium Earth orbit and geostationary satellite coverage.
Riyadh Air expects to take delivery of its first A321 in the fourth quarter of 2026 and plans to deploy the connectivity across the type as part of its digital services strategy.
