Airports around the Middle East have refused to allow aircraft to land that were carrying members of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's family.
Beirut Airport in Lebanon denied a request to allow a plane belonging to the Gaddafi family to land, while a Libyan Arab Airlines aircraft carrying 14 people made an unscheduled appearance in Maltese airspace and was also refused permission as it was believed to be carrying Gaddafi's daughter, Ayesha.
