Lufthansa Cargo is expanding its short- and medium-haul freighter network with the addition of Rome and Algiers as new scheduled destinations.
From February 7, 2026, the carrier will introduce a weekly A321 freighter service from Frankfurt to Rome Fiumicino, operating on Saturdays and continuing onwards to Istanbul and Munich. Rome has been served on an ad hoc basis since December 2025 and will now become part of Lufthansa Cargo’s regular schedule.
The airline will also add Algiers to its A321 freighter network from 10 February 2026, with a weekly service operating on Tuesdays. The move expands Lufthansa Cargo’s scheduled freighter footprint in Africa, complementing existing services to Beirut, Casablanca, Cairo, Yerevan, Tel Aviv and Tunis.
