Jet2.com is providing flights from London Gatwick to fill the gap left by bankrupt charter carrier Hamburg International Airlines. The charter airline was servicing several holiday operators over the winter holiday season including cruise line Hurtigruten, ski firms Inghams and Esprit and Tui.
Jet2 flights usually fly out of Scottish and Midland airports and thre airline has stated this move does not mean it will be setting up a permanent base in the London airport.
