Chairman and chief executive of Iberia, Antonio Vazquez, has stated the airline will focus on expanding its long-haul routes but is still targeting acquisitions. He also reiterated the company’s plan to expand and acquire other airlines after it merges with British Airways and shares start trading on January 24.
He said he invites airlines to consolidate with the larger merged group, which will be known as International Consolidated Airlines Group, or IAG.
